Let’s talk about that little square liar on the bathroom floor. You know the one — it flashes a number and suddenly decides if we’re allowed to feel proud of ourselves that day.
Well, this week I decided mine wasn’t going to have that power anymore.
My first two weeks were mind‑blowing. Seven pounds down, forty‑two inches gone… I almost didn’t believe it myself. Then came week 3. It wasn’t terrible — but it also wasn’t the headline‑grabbing success story my brain wanted. I dropped another 8.5 inches (which, hello, is still incredible!) but the scale crept up 1.4 pounds.
At first I was ready to call the thing broken. But then I took a breath and reminded myself — bodies do weird things. I still felt amazing, I still looked smaller, and my energy was through the roof. Clearly something was still working.
When I thought about it, the reasons made sense. There’d been some pizza (Friday), lasagna (Sunday and Monday), and, oh yeah — that tiny detail where I forgot to eat until 5 p.m. one day. The Balance & Burn System curbed my appetite so much that I honestly forget to eat sometimes — and, wild as that sounds, that’s part of the problem. My one job is to fuel this new metabolism, not starve it. And I haven’t been giving it enough protein. So, the goal this week: feed my body like it’s my teammate, not an afterthought.
The old me would’ve jumped straight into self‑pity land, convinced I’d “failed.” But not this time. I kept my head up, remembered how far I’ve come, and decided that if the scale still doesn’t smile at me next week, I’ll tweak what I’m doing and keep pushing forward.
Because here’s what I know - progress isn't always measure in pounds. Sometimes it’s courage, sometimes consistency, sometimes it’s just how quickly you bounce back instead of beating yourself up.
I’ve made so many positive shifts in such a short time, and that means success is already happening. Every meal I choose with intention, every time I remind myself to eat, every time I don’t spiral — that’s a win.
If I’ve learned anything from my years of ups, downs, trials, and errors, it’s that we can’t stop trying. When you find what brings you joy and feels sustainable — you hold on tight. That’s why I’m sticking with Balance & Burn. I’ve found my rhythm, my confidence, and this incredible circle of people cheering me on.
So if you need to hear it today: don’t let the scale steal your thunder.
You’re doing better than you think you are.
You’re doing better than you think you are.
Because this isn’t just a number.
It’s a New ME Resolution.
